افتراضي The prophet's ordering to leave Egypt when fighting errupts among them

The Book of Virtues of the Sahaabah

Chapter: The Prophet’s Advice for the People of Egypt[1]

2543 – On the authority of Abu Tharr, who said, ‘The messenger of Allaah sall Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam said, “You will conquer a land in which al-qiraat[2] is mentioned so treat its people well as they have sanctity and ties of kinship[3]. So when you see two men fighting in a place of milking, leave it.”’
He [Abu Tharr] then said, ‘[I] passed by Rabi’ah and Abdur Rahmaan, the sons of Shurah’beel bin Hasanah arguing in a place of milking, so left it.
On the authority of Abu Tharr, who said, ‘The messenger of Allaah sall Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam said, “You will conquer Egypt – which is a land in which al-qiraat is named. So when you conquer it, be good to its people for they have protection and ties of kinship’ or he said ‘protection and [status of an] in-law[4]. So if you see two men arguing over the space of milking, leave it.’
He [Abu Tharr] then said, ‘I saw Abdur Rahmaan bin Shurah’beel bin Hasanah and his brother Rabi’ah arguing in a place of milking, so I left it.’
And within the hadeeth are clear signs of [the truth of] the messenger of Allaah sall Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam. From them:
· His stating that the ummah would have strength after his demise, such that they would overcome the non-Arabs and tyrants.
· [His stating that] they would conquer Egypt.
· That two men would argue in a place of milking

[1] Chapter heading, notes on the ahadeeth and footnotes all taken from Imaam an-Nawawi’s explanation of Muslim (vol. 16, p. 89, Maktabatu Abu Bakr as-Sideeq) This was translated as a result of having seen the ahadeeth on the thread http://www.kulalsalafiyeen.com/vb/sh...ad.php?t=51878 may Allaah reward the brother who posted them. [Translator’s Note]

[2] The scholars say al-qiraat is part of a deenar, dirham and other than it. And the people of Egypt used to use it often and mention it in their speech.

[3] Due to Haajir, the mother of Isma’eel being from them.

[4] Due to Maariyah, the mother of Ibraheem being from.
